I love Bol pots, if you have seen my many blog posts about them you will already know this, but what you may not know if that pearl barley is one of my favourite things to eat! ‘What are you going on about Piglet?’ – I hear you ask, well BOL Foods has just released their latest in the yummy range that features Pearl Barley, in fact, they have collaborated with Eco Chef – Tom Hunt on this one and boy oh boy, is it good.
The Pearl Barley and Root Veg pot is filled with delicious pearl barley, with borlotti beans, chargrilled carrots and parsnips, some scrumptious kale, all in a warming herby tomato sauce, it is so wholesome that I ate mine for dinner in a bowl to feel like I had done something, as all it takes is 3 minutes in the microwave or 5 on the stove and you are ready to enjoy such this wholesome meal.
It is perfect as a dinner like I had, or as a very filling lunch, either way, you are guaranteed goodness with this BOL pot! With 9 grams of protein and 2 of your 5 a day you will be the envy of the office, as soon as the smell hits your co-workers and it is less than 400 calories, so the only thing you need to feel guilty about is how little you had to do before eating it!
Just when I thought I couldn’t love the wonderful people at BOL foods any more, they are very generously donating 10p of each pot sold to a charity who are working to fight malnutrition!
