Splendid Shot

Hidden down one of the side streets of Fleet Street is an amazing eatery, filled with delicious and healthy vegan options AND a gorgeous view of one of Sir Christopher Wren’s beautifully designed churches, St Brides. ‘So what is the name of this place?’ I hear you ask, well it is called Shot and it is a great place to grab your vegan eats and take a moment to yourself for some relaxation, or people watching, either are accommodated for here.

Whether you pop in with a peckish craving or hunger pains that caused an almighty rumble in the tum in the middle of the office, (we have all been there), they have got vegan options to suit you. I tried two of the vegan options, though they do have others and have options for vegan breakfasts too, which is always a bonus!

Now let me explain what I ate, I had a sandwich packed full of delicious chargrilled aubergine, cashew pesto, and mushrooms on toasted sourdough a perfect savoury combination for a satisfying lunch that crams in 19g of protein and only 473 kcal this is a rather healthy treat!

If I hearty lunch is more up your street then their vegan curry is the way to go withΒ mushrooms, lentils and butternut squash this is a satisfying curry with just the right amount of spicy and NO oil, this is a healthy lunch perfect for when you want something filling but not bloating, with plenty of flavours this is sure to get you through the afternoon!

I think it is fair to say I am quite a big fan of the vegan options I have tried so far and would highly recommend to anyone working near Bride Lane, just moments from City Thameslink and Blackfriars Stations, pop down and try their vegan options, I guarantee you will be a regular in no time. I am already planning to head back and taste their cauliflower and quinoa salad, with pomegranate, toasted almonds and curried maple dressing, it sounds a looks delicious!
