I popped down to Crepe Affaire to taste some of their yummy gluten free crepes, which just so happen to be vegan. You can choose your fillings, so naturally, I opted for a savoury crepe immediately followed by a sweet crepe.
For my savoury crepe, I decided to have the Superveg, minus the cheese, which consisted of tomatoes, spinach and mushrooms which worked so well. The crepes were so light and housed the ingredients really nicely. I also liked how quickly this was served and think it is a perfect place to go for when you want a quick lunch either sit in or on the go.
For my sweet options, I had a cinnamon apple and maple syrup crepe which has sweet sultanas in it too. It was delicious, topped with some powdered sugar it was like an apple pie in a crepe, what could be better!I also had a berry crepe with maple syrup that made such a great comparison between the tartness of the fruit and the sweetness of the syrup, this was a great and filling flavour combinations.
I had a banana and strawberry smoothie to start with which was delicious and as far as smoothies go, I am a firm believer less is more and in this case that was exactly right.
I also had a salted caramel latte which packed a lot of flavours and with the restaurant serving non-dairy milk, you can have all of the hot drinks. Unfortunately, you can’t have the milkshakes as they use ice cream to make them so sadly these aren’t vegan, yet!
I will definitely be heading back down in the next few weeks so be sure to check my Instagram to see the flavour combinations I have opted for when next there! If you are looking for a quick and delicious lunch that is vegan and gluten free then this is definitely the place to go!
