Today, I’ve decided to end the party food with a sweet fruit treat – poached pears. I have made a fail safe, tasty, quick recipe to make them in batch for a party treat.
This recipe is set on a ration for 1l of water, depending on how many litres you will need, multiply the quantities for as many as you need. I cook between 4-6 at a time using 1 litre.
Ingredients –
4 x pears peeled
1 litre x water
4 tablespoon x brown sugar
4 tablespoons x vanilla essence
1 x cinnamon stick
Method –
- Place liquid and all ingredients, apart from the pears in a saucepan, big enough to sit all pears in and bring to the boil.
- Allow the flavours to infuse for 5 minutes, before adding pears and turning heat down to a low heat.
- Leave for 5 -10 minutes checking they are are soft, all the way through.
- Ensure pears are soft before removing, serve immediately.
