Bare in mind that these ingredients cover the entire barbecue, the fruit section for afterwards and the soft drinks. Under £10 per person you can all have a great time and no one will be going hungry. I didn’t include the usual items I have in my fridge and cupboards, such as stock, salt pepper, sugar, tin foil, butter and oils.

Everything on the list is premade, if you wish to make your own hummus and burgers, please feel free, I just wanted to show how cheap and easy it is to get together at the last minute, without too much prep. There are so many meat alternatives that you can throw down on the barbecue and they will  be ready in no time. With such a vast range of ready made vegan sausages and burgers, you can opt for the easy option, though a bean burger is never that hard to throw together, its a great way to use up what is in your cupboards, and they are super easy to make. Check my recipes page for all of my quick vegan offerings.

Once you’ve made a super size salad, create some dips – mash together avocados and lime juice, sprinkle some salt and mix for a quick dip.

The pitta breads need a few minutes over the heat to become toasted wonders, that can be used for dipping or stuffing with goodness.

Make a quick plain couscous in stock, allow to cool and add diced peppers, tomatoes and cucumber for a super tasty filling side.

To ensure there is always enough to go around I usually count the amount of people coming and add an extra 3 portions of everything, apartfrom them sausage and burgers.A cubed salad of tomato and cucumber is a great fresh addition to the table and with the average cost of a bowl for 5 being under £2.50, it is a cheap and cheerful crowd pleaser.

Vegan food speaks for itself, its is the perfect food for summer time, it is fresh, colourful and with the amount of veggies and fruit available during the summer months, it should never be a struggle to make ¾ of the barbecue, solid veg/fruit based dishes for everyone to try.
